Linkbuilding is a very important technique for SEO, because thanks to it you are indicating the following aspects to the search engine (Google):

  • Authority, because the more links from other pages pointing to yours, the more the search engine will understand that your site is a reference and therefore an authority site, and Google will favour you in the rankings, i.e. you will appear at the top of the SERP.
  • Relevance: If you get websites in your sector that are important in your sector to link to your site, you will be considered an expert in your field.
  • increased traffic: Getting an external link from a website with a large number of visitors will drive many of them to your site to find out more .
  • improve keywords. When you start to receive backlinks from other websites, these links are achieved by anchor text. These anchor text are the visible text of a link, in other words, when you write a text and want to redirect to a website to give more information you do not add the link, but above a word or phrase you use a hyperlink with the URL of the site to which you want to direct the reader. And usually these anchor text usually contain the keyword you are using.

But this strategy does not consist of getting a very high number of links, because as we mentioned at the beginning, this is not always good. What you have to look for is that these backlinks that you get are of quality, that they come from websites related to your sector and that they have authority. It is a very effective technique as long as you take into account the origin of these links.


As you can see, linkbuilding is important for your off page SEO strategy, as this technique will help you rank better in search engines, as well as give you authority, increase your web traffic and gain relevance among users.

Your on page SEO can be perfectly done and your website can be optimised, but if you don't get Google to notice your presence, it won't do you much good. That's why you have to focus on both aspects and don't leave either one to chance. Building good relationships with other websites in your field and establishing a communication between both to help each other will be fundamental.
